RAISINS.
Although it is generally recognised that raisins have high dietetic value and general laxative properties, it is not so well-known that they are invaluable to sufferers from hives. Medical advisers advocate their consumption in large quantities to sufferers from this distressing ailment. Itaisins provide a savoury stuffing for baked apples. Scoop the centres from apples, fill with raisins, and a little brown sugar. Bake and serve cold with whipped cream. Raisin bread or raisin teacakes toasted and served hot with plenty of butter are wholesome and delicious for breakfast or tea. A few raisins added to the morning cereal will increase its food value and act as a gentle laxative alike for children or adults. Raisins and nuts in equal quantities finely chopped and moistened with lemon juice makes a toothsome filling for sandwiches.
When dusting, try using a 3j-i.nch-wide new varnish brush for uneven surfaces and mouldings into which the duster cannot reach.
