PAHIATUA.

At the request of a numher of citizens the Mayor of Pahiatua (Mr S. K. Siddolls) has ’ inaugurated a “Help London” Fund for which he stated that £250 should ho readily forthcoming before tho end of September. The fund has been formally opened with contributions of £2 2s from Mr and Mrs J. E. Hewitt and £1 Is from Mr and Mrs Siddclls. At a motieng of tho Hamua Women’s 'lnstitute Mesdames Carruthcrs and Thompson were appointed delegates to the council meeting to bo hold in Ekctahuna. The competitions resulted: Bloom, Mrs Farrow (hyacinth) 1, Mrs White (bulb) 2; child’s nightdress (for refugees), Mesdames Hobbs and Cavanagh equal 1, Mesdames Galvin and Davies equal 2.
