CHILDREN FROM HOME.

NO DEFINITE INFORMATION

Per Press Association.-

WELLINGTON, .Sept. 16. No definite information is yet available of the probable date of arrival- in the Dominion of the British children to be officially evacuated. The Minister of Internal Affaire (Hon. W. E. Parry) stated to-night that, beyond advice that the evacuation scheme prepared will be carried out, no other information could be given at present.

“The keenness of interest evinced in the scheme by New Zealanders,” Mr Parry added, “leads to very many inquiries daily by members of the community who are anxious to have children in their homes. I wish it were possible to let them have some definite news. This, however, will come later, and the Government will be prompt in supplying it to the people.”
