WOODVILLE SALE.
RUN CATTLE SELL WELL. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report holding a successful sale of run cattle at the Woodville sale held yesterday. The yarding was comprised mainly of yearling 2 and 3 year P.A. and Hereford steers, with odd pens of empty P.A. cows, and although the weather was most inclement the sale can be described as quite successful, practically the whole of the yarding being sold at auction at values satisfactory to vendors. The specially advertised line of three trucks of prime fat bullocks on account of Mr Frank Gordon sold under keen competition, these being not heavy cattle, weighing approximately 7001 b butchers’ weight, and selling up to as high as £l7 l£s 6d. All other beef sold at full market rates. Quotations: —Fat cattle: Fat bullocks, £ls, £ls 10s to £ls 17s 6d; fat cows ex the dairy, £6, £6 10s, £7, £7 10s, £8 to £8 10s; light fat heifers, cx dairy, £5 10s, £6, £6 10s, £7, to £8 ss; runners, £4 10s. £4 15s £5, £5 15s. Station cattle: Mod. grown ylg. P.A. steer 3, £4 10s, £4 15s to £4 19s; med. sized P.A. steers, £6 ss, £6 10s. to £6 12s 6d; 2 and 3-yr P.A. ylg. steers, £6 ss, £6 10s, £6 15s to £7; empty P.A. cows,' £5 10s to £6: empty Shorthorn-Tlere-ford cross cows, £4 5s to £4 10s; ylg. Jersey heifers, £4 10s, £4 15s, £5, to £5 15s; store cow cx dairy, £4, £4 ss, £4 10s to £4 15s. A quantity of posts and battens sold at full market rates.
