WILLARD HOME BOARD .

The monthly meeting of the Willard Children’s Home Board was 'held in St. Andrew’s schoolroom, yesterday., afternoon, Mrs E. A. Collins presiding. Also present were Mesdames C. Greig, D AVatson, F. J. Nathan. N. Ratcliffe. J. A. McLeavey, K. McDonald, D. Lovelock, E. C. Barnett, A. Far•land. J. B. Sankcy. J. McMurray, Miss M. Cranston and Mrs E. B. Jennings (secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames A. J. Andrews. E. V. West, and P. Aekins. The matron reported that the general standard of health and conduct had been maintained and the school holidays had been greatly enjoyed by the children and staff, as there was much additional and willing help. There had l>een a picnic at the Ashhurst. Domain and an outing at a Sunshine Club celebration, when the children were the guests of Mr D. Watson, who had also provided transport to and from the sports ground. Generous donations from bakers and butchers had been received and also gifts of vegetables. Visits had been exchanged with the matron of All Saints’ Home (Miss Bellingham). Five child studies in black and white from the Citizens Lunch Club had been received through Mr J. H. Stevens. Further gifts were received from Woolworths (sweets) ■ Produce Distributors (cauliflowers, and 801 b apples) and a friend at Linton (three dozen fresh eggs). The annual egg appeal was discussed, the arrangements being left in the hands of the president and secretary, ’ll? 13 secretary was asked to make inquiries about a Ixiach house for t'he Christmas holidays. Mesdames Lovelock and McMurray were appointed visitors to the home for the coming month. Mesdames Nathan. McLeavey and Jennings were instructed to choose a stall site lor the Spring Shown ■
