HAWAIIAN DANCE.

the largest gathering seen in the Cosmopolitan Ball for some considerable time took place when the Palmerston North Junior Labour Party conducted its Hawaiian dance. The hall was thronged with young people dancing to the sweet strains of stringed inytruments typical of the South Soa Islands. The Hawaiian atmosphere prevailed throughout, appropriate decorations providing a perfect setting for the costumes and leis which wore worn by a number of patrons. the members served a delightful tropical supper consisting of oranges, pineapple, bananas and orange drinks, after which extra dance music was rendered by Messrs R. Legg and J. Kidner, of Feilding. Mesdanies Little a.nu Robertson judged the Hawaiian costumes and awarded the prizes to Miss J Tams and Mr C. Telfer. The duties of M.C. were attended to in a capable manner by Mr I. Little.
