ROME REPORT.
ROME, Sept. If An Italian communique says: “We bombed and aerially torpedoed an enemy convoy of merchantmen in the Eastern Mediterranean. A British ship struck by an aerial torpedo heavily listed and probably sank. Our bombers scored direct hits on merchantmen in another convoy and. also probable hit a warship which ceased fire. All our planes returned. There was further activity in scouting patrols on the Cyrenaica border. We bombed an enemy camp at Ras el Sil, north of Galata. An enemy p'ane was shot down in North Africa and two others were shot down in Ivassala on Wednesday.”
