ANTWERP BADLY DAMAGED
(British Official Wireless.) (Ree. 12.7 p.m.) RUGBY, Sept, 15. Enemy shipping, barge concentrations in the Channel points, and many of the supply depots and. rail communications or Germany were again heavily bombed last night by the R.A.F. An Air Ministry communique states that strong forces of bombers made heavy and sustained attacks- on shipping, barge concentrations, military equipment, and stores assembled in Channel ports, also on distribution centres and the lines of communication used by the enemy for the movement of supplies. The port 6of Antwerp, Flushing, Dunkirk, Calais, and Boulogne were heavily bombed. The supply depots at Osnabruck, Mannheim, Aachen, Hamm, Krefeld, and Brussels, were attacked, also rail communications at Rheine, Sundern, Husten and Westhofen. Our pilots and crews pressed home their attacks in spite of severe weather and heavy opposition from the ground defences. Much damage was done, particularly to the docks at Antwerp. The gun emplacements at Cape Gris Nez and several enemy aerodromes were also bombed. One of our aircraft is missing.
