A further by-election for the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, due to tho resignation of Mr E. S. Spooner to contest a Federal seat, was held on Saturday in tho Ryde electorate. The Government candidate. (Mr A. J. Mitchell), seems likely to retain the seat when the preferences are distributed early this week.
