HAMILTON, Sept. 13

While making his rounds in the early hours, a constable discovered that the lied Cross Society’s depot in Garden Place had been broken into and a quantity of clothing and other materials were blazing on the floor at the back of the shop. The Fire Brigade. quickly extinguished the outbreak, no damage being done to the building. Soldiers’ comforts, knitting wool, Red Cross text books, and clothes were among the materials destroyed, the total loss being about £3O. Subsequently it was found that about £5. used for the ordinary' day operations of the society, had been stolen.
