PARDONED IN RUMANIA
LONDON, Sept. 12.
King Michael of Rumania has signed a decree reprieving a number of men sentenced for political crimes, including 14 who were Involved in a plot against ex-King Carol. Reuter reports that demands by the German minority, who number about 750,000, are now coming to the forefront. These include the organisation of the German minority as an autonomous community, exemption from Rumanian military service, the use of the German language and German place names, and the formation of their own military force on the Nazi model. Hungary had to agree to similar demands as a price for the Vienna award giving her part of Transylvania. King Michael has left Bucharest for the Yugoslav frontier to meet his mother, Queen Helene, who is returning from exile.
The Bulgarian Minister in London has thanked the Britisli Government for its sympathetic attitude toward Bulgaria in the agreement with Rumania over the cession of Southern Dobruja.
