KENVIL DISASTER.

THREE HUNDRED INJURED

Received September 14, 9 a.m. KENVIL (New Jersey), Sept. 13. Three hundred are know to have been injured and many are missing as a result of the explosion in the Hercules powder plant. The damage is estimated at 1.000,000 dollars. President Roosevelt has requested the Red Cross Society to assist. The injured include children at a school a mile distant. Aeroplanes flew to arid fro dropping fire-fighting chemicals, . and rescuers dashed in and out of the flames, doing their best to carry out those who could be saved, and leaving those obviously dead. (The death roll was yesterday reported to be fifty.) -
