ATTACKS ON JEWS.

DEPLORED BY JUDGE. THE CATHOLIC VIEWPOINT. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Sept. 12. A strong attack on anti-Semitism was made to-day by Mr Justice O’llegan in an address at the Catholic Men’s Luncheon Club. His Honou” said he must refer to the anti-Semitism which characterised moderndictatorships and had sympathisers elsewhere. Catholic citizens did Family, the Twelve Apostles and the not need to be told that the Holy great majority of early Christians belonged to the Hebrew race. “Tho great St. Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles, was a patriotic Hebrew,” the speaker said, “and often preached in the synagogues. „ In the Catholic Church there is no room for racialism or the colour bar. The Gospel message is meant for every creature, and so one race is as good as another. In this attitude we cannot do better than adopt the lead given recently by our Holy Father the Pope. His Holiness appointed a commission of scientific men to inquire into the age of tho earth. One of them was a Hebrew. That was the Pope’s reply to the anti-scmitism: of Hitler and Mussolini, and members of the Catholic community could ndt do better than follow it.” .
