(From Our Own Correspondent.) HIWINUI, Sept. 12. The lambing season is nearly over, and although there have been some losses among ewes most of the farmers are showing an unusually largo percentage of lambs. Thcro have been quite a number of triplets, and one farmer claims a record of having a owe with five lambs. Mr Crosby, inspector, visited the school recently. Mrs J. Slack has returned, homo after having undergone an operation in a private hospital. Another of our residents, Mr R. Osborne, has also returned home after having undergone an operation. Mrs 11. Toms, who lias boon tho guest of her sister, Mrs D._ Ilockly, has returned to her home in Palmerston North. Mr S. Wiggins is .to spend the week-end with his parents in Wanganui. Lieutenant Cody, of Trentham . Camp, spent the week-end with his family. Miss Phyllis Lassen has returned homo after spending a holiday ,at Aw-apuni. Miss 0. Penellum has returned after spending a holiday in Hastings, where she was the guest of her aunt, Mrs C. Brown.
