FOXTON BULB SHOW

THE AWARDS. After advancing the date 10 days, the Foxton Horticultural Society was successful with its bulb show, on Wednesday, which was considered the best for a, number of years. There was a good attendance of the public at both sessions, the profits being given to the Patriotic Fund. Mr D. Christie opened the show and prizes were presented by the president (Mrs R. O. Hornbiow). Mr Gibson, one of the judges, stated that the exhibits compared very favouraby with thoso displayed at the National Show held at Hamilton last week. In the evening a concert party visited the show from Palmerston North and gave an entertainment which was much appreciated. The artists were Messrs J. S. Hornbiow, Brown. Wood and Dawson.
