RONGOTEA SALE. The demand for all classes of cattle especially springing was keen at the Rongotea sale on Wednesday, reports the i New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Coy., Ltd. Quality heifers were in shorter supply, prices over all advancing at least £2 to £2 10s on our last. sale. Only a few pens of yearling heifers came forward, the better well-grown lots showing well into the Jersey realising from £6 to £6 15s. For a larger entry of fat cows and heifers ex dairy late rates were well maintained. Another heavy yarding of pigs, mainly light porkers, came forward, prices for these and baconers being on a par with our last sale. Fewer weaners and store pigs were penned a slight drop being evident in this section. Quotations: Weaner pigs, 235, 245, 255, 26s 6d to 30s; slips, 32s 6d to 345; store pigs, 355, 36s to £2 Is; porkers. £2 6s, £2 7s. £2 10s, £2 12s 6d, £2 14s, to £2 16s; baconers, £3, £3 3s, to £3 13s;. fat wethers, £2 ss; fat owes, 31s ; fat hoggets, 345; yearling Jersey heifers, £4 10s £6, £6 Is, to £6 15s; spg.
