STOPPAGES OF WORK. ■ G 0 VERNMENT PERTURBED. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) \\ ELLJLNGTO.N, Sept. 12. “The Government is taking a very serious view of these continued stoppages,” declared Hon. P. C. Webb (Minister of Labour), commenting today on the further trouble at the Macdonald Mine in the Waikato. “The importance of the coal supply must bo apparent to everybody,” continued Mr Webb,f “and no matter who is to blame, whether the management or the men, the work must be continued and disputes dealt with in keeping with the conditions of the agreement. Mr C. L. Hunter (liaison oiiicer to the Labour Department) has been sent to Auckland to convey the Government’s attitude both to the management and the men. Ho will specially 7 emphasise the serious view which the Government is taking of this mattei.”
