FEILDING’S CONTRIBUTIONS
Since t]ie two major appeals for the Red Cross Sick and "Wounded Fund arid the Fighting Services Welfare Appeal closed with a total of approximately £15,000 from /one E, efforts have not been lessoned and the efficicnt organisation has continued to raise money for the Provincial Patriotic Fund, from which the soldiers upon their return will be provided for. The rehabilitation organisation will require a large amount of money, and it is with that knowledge in mind that immediate steps are being taken to build up the fund. To date £1440 3s Ims been raised in the Zone E district. In addition to the amounts already acknowledged the following donations have been received :
CHRISTMAS PARCELS. With the appeal for Christmas parcels and goods for these drawing to a close and the need for the despatch of them to Wellington this week-end. tlie committee responsible for the receipt and packing of the parcels is working at top speed and announces that packing cases are urgently required. Feilding is required to supply its quota of 200 parcels, and as this number has not yet been reached, donations in cash and parcels will be welcomed. There is no time to he lost, however, and contact with the Mayor (Mr T. L. Reddon). the town clerk (Air C. H. Tate), the secretary (Air K. AL Little) or ATrs A. C. AlcCorkindale should be made immediately.
The following donations in cash are acknowledged: Mali Jong partv. £2 4s 6d; C. E. Taylor, £2 2s; “Arnrgert,” Airs W. Crooke, £1 each ; Mrs D. Entwisle, Aliss F. Alaguiro and Aliss AI. Gould. 10s cadi; already acknowledged, £2l 12s Gd; total to date, £29 9s. PATRIOTIC FUND.
Donations to the local Patriotic Fund, out of which presentations of wallets are made to soldiers prior to their departure overseas, total £2IS 8s 7d to date and include the following: Mali Jong party, £3 10s; F. Richards, AVomen’s National Reserve, 10s each; Airs Dyke, senr., Gs. Presentations have been made to about 90 soldiers, who in addition to wallets have each received a 10s note, bringing the value of each presentation to an average amount of £1 Is.
