MELODY DANCE CLUB.
The Empire Hall presented a gay scene on Saturday evening when the usual Melody dance was held, organised by Miss Winifred Hubbard. The attendance was very good in spite of tho wet weather, and those present spent an enjoyable time. Extra novelty prize dances were on the programme before and after supper. Ail extra was kindly played by Mr Christensen, while the duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr Howard York. A professional orchestra of four players supplied excellent old-time and modern dance music. A novelty tap item, a “Top Hat” number, was given by Shirley Henderson. The next Melody dance will be held on Saturday in the usual-hall, and a special feature of the evening will be a demonstration dance presented by Miss Beth Parkcs, “The Modern Waltz.” Patrons are advised to arrive early j and seats may be reserved for no extra charge by phoning 6195 or 7858. An excellent supper will be served at 10 p.m. sharp under the entire supervision of Miss W. R. Hubbard. Special • novelty prize dances will be presented throughout the evening. Everyone is assured of an excellent variety of old time and modern dance programme. Full details are advertised elsewhere in this issue.
