SOUTHLAND'S GOOD RESPONSE

Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Sept. 10. To-day a cheque for £10.500 was sent to the Prime Minister by the treasurer of the Southland Provincial Patriotic Council on behalf of the Southland Fighter Plano Fund Committee. Tins is to purchase a second plane for the R.A.F., money for the first plane having already been sent and acknowledged by 'the Air Ministry.. It is the wish of the donors that if possible the piano bo named .Southland 11.. and flown by a New Zealand airmail.

The Minister of Finance announced yesterday that, amounts received on account of the Aeroplanes Fund and paid to the Public Account totalled £36.121 13s 3d.
