NEW GUN FOR ARMY.
ADOPTION BY BRITAIN. ' LONDON, Sept. 7. The “Bcsa” gun —a new type of machine-gun, notable, for its highfiring rate, has been adopted by the British Army. It is based on the Bren gun arid can be mounted oil tanks or used on the ground. Special factories have been built to manufacture tlie Besa-gun; which is made in two calibres—-the ,312 in gun firing 3000 rounds in half an hour without changing the barrel, and 7000 rounds in half • an hour, using two barrels; and the .591 in gun, firing 800 rounds in eight to ten minutes, when two barrels are used.
