(United Press Association —Copyright.) (Rec. 1.20 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept 9. His Holiness the Pope has informed President Roosevelt in a message carried by Mr Myron C. Taylor (Ambassador to the Holy See) that the Vatican is doing everything in its power to halt the war in Europe and establish a just and enduring world, peace. It is pointed out that the nature or the statement extends little basis oi hope that collaboration between President Roosevelt and the Pope could produce the prospect of immediate peace.
