RESERVED OCCUPATIONS.
RELAXATION IN BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 7. The Ministry of Labour issued a new schedule of reserved occupations to-day which contains a number of important amendments to the existing schedule, in particular raising the age of reservation from 25 to thirty over a considerable number of occupations. The amendment is expected, to release for enlistment in the Armed Forces about 20,000 professional clerical workers, including temporary civil servants. At the 6ame time, in view of the vita] importance of increasing food production, it has been decided, to reduce the age of reservation in certain of the more important classes of agricultural workers fronr 21 to 18 and for market gardeners and certain other classes of horticultural workers primarily . engaged in food production from 35 to 31.
