WOMEN’S DIVISION

FEILDING BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the W.D.F.U. in Feilding was held on Friday, Mrs R. H. Buchanan presiding. The housekeeping secretary reported that three applications for housekeepers had been dealt with in May and several applications had been booked for the next two months. The matter of holding the Dominion conference in Wellington in July was left to the executive to deal with. A collection was taken up for parcels for soldiers, and it was also decided to make a donation to the Red Cross Society for materials for sewing. Mrs Martin, of Kopane, gave a very instructive talk on her visit to Holland. Miss Martin delighted the members with a Dutch clog dance executed in the national costume; Miss Martin also entertained with a vocal item. It was announced that Mrs D. Collis, of Kairanga, would be the speaker-guest at the next meeting.
