This Flock (No. 313) was founded in tho year 1919 by descendants of the farfamed “Te Rangitnmau” Flock of the late James Stuckey, who used a number of sheep bred by Sir Jeremiah Coleman, Surrey, England, and for the purpose of line breeding Mr Wheeler has endeavoured, as far as possible, and with little regard to expense, to use 6ires descended from this renowned English Flock. The I.cedstown Flock to-day, therefore, probably constitutes the strongest combination of Gatton Park blood in New Zealand. The flock was not extensively exhibited until recently, but as soon as exhibited these Southdowns /were instantly successful, and, in the past two years, have .gained 6 Championships, 7 Reserve Championships, 20 First Prizes, 14 Seconds, besides various Specials and Points Prizes. They have been equally successful in the sale ring, this season the whole, line of shearling Southdown Rams averaging £l6 12s 9d, Studs selline up to 65 guineas at auction and averaging £4l. All sheep passed Southdown, Sheep Breeders" Association and extended pedigrees supplied with each sheep. A unique opportunity to acquire the best obtainable.
