HAWKE’S BAY MEETING./ SUCCESS OF VASCONES. HASTINGS, June 8. The Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club held the first of its one-day winter meetings today. The weather was brilliantly .line and the track in spring condition .Fields were not large, hut they provided keen racing. The only open flat race was won by Endorsement' and in a three-horse race for the Hawke's Bay' Steeplechase the favourite, Small Boy, won ' comfortably. The totalisator investments w*erb £10,593 10s, compared with £11,166 10s last-year. The comparison is quite a favourable one as the club dropped twice as much as the £573 decrease on the steeplechase alone. .... The three leading jockeys attended tho meeting, and B. 11.
