INFLUENZA CASES
POSITION REASSURING. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 7. In the House of Representatives, today, Hon. P. Fraser made a 'brief statement on tlie position ill regard to the outbreak of' influenza in tlie various military camps throughout the Dominion, stating that the present position was reassuring and by no means serious.' SITUATION AT AUCKLAND. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND. June 7 The epidemic of influenza at'Papakura camp is described by the.- Army authorities as being no worse than it lias been, and it. is hoped that the arrangement made for evacuating patients to the Ellerslie racecourse will quickly make, itself noticeable in a red tic lion of cases. To-day’s total in hospital and at camp was 283. In the Auckland Hospital and the Epsom infirmary there were 140 soldiers. At Ellerslie there were 61 and at tlie camp there were 82. all of whom are expected to be evacuated to Ellerslie to-morrow. At to-day's sick parade there wore 249 soldiers, but the large proportion of these was found to be free of influenza symptoms.
