ASYLUM OVERSEAS.

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 5. The Under-Secretary to the Dominions Office (Mr G. H. Shakespeare), in the House of Commons, said the question of evacuating children from the United Kingdom to Australia and Canada was receiving urgent consideration. He hoped ,to make a statement at an early date. .He understood the South African Government would be prepared to examine sympathetically proposals for giving asylum to Dutch refugees from the Nazi invasion of Holland. Certain proposals were under consideration, but it was not yet possible to make a statement.
