TOTAL REACHES £207,473. WELLINGTON, Juno 7. The Sick, Wounded and Distress Fund Appeal lias reached £207,473, the district contributions being: Wellington, £48,817 ; ; Christchurch, £48,000 ; Auckland, £35,500; Dunedin, £27,000; Hawke’s Bay, £17,100; Taranaki, £11,000; Palmerston North, £10,156; Gisborne, £3000; Blenheim, £2100; West Coast, £800; miscellaneous, £4OOO. The Joint Council of the New Zealand Red Cross Society and the Order of St. John, organiser of the drive, is confident that the goal of £250,000 will be far exceeded if the present level of public generosity is maintained.
