GOLF COUNCIL.
GIFT TO PATRIOTIC FUND. A decision to send a first contribution to the National Patriotic Fund of £IOOO from the dubs affiliated to the New Zealand Golf Association was made by the council of the association at a meeting in Wellington this week. This sum includes amounts received, plus subsidies added by the association. The council recorded with regret the deaths of Mr Henry Gullen, secretary of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrew’s, and of Mr H. R. H. Balneavis, who was a member of the council of the association for some yeas. Standard' scratch scores allotted indude Partmatu 68 and Otaki 72,
