Amongst the latest decorations awarded Royal Air Force personnel is the Distinguished Flying Cross to Squadron-Leader Halahan, whose squadron has already destroyed 70 enemy aircraft. In addition to the usual small arms, he believed it was known that the troops carried had been equipped with heavy machine-guns or 20mm and 30mm calibre, scm and 5.75 cm mortars. 7.5 infantry guns, and possibly light howitzers.
