STARR BOWKETT.

The monthly meeting of the board of the Palmerston. North Co-operative Building Society was held on Tuesday, Air E. Jackson presiding. Other directors present were Alessrs H. Findlay Wilson, D. F. Slnillic, Al. A. Eliott, H. Christmas, and S. W. Ilapley. Ballots for the return of subscriptions were held in Group 5, the- successful members being Air D. AlcLeod (Palmerston North) and Airs A. Alsop (Alanawatu Heads). A ballot for interest free loans was held in Group No. 7, the successful member being Mr H.. Lock (Palmerston North), £SOO. Business was conducted in all groups and a number of applications were considered concerning properties in Palmerston North, Marton, Napier, and Wellington. Tho board considered ways and means of assisting members who go on active military service, and a scheme was devised whereby they, would be assisted to the utmost. The secretary reported that applications for shares in No. 12 Group were coining in steadily ’ and it was hoped ’ to launch the group in, the not distant future.
