WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
A discussion about the holding of the Dominion/ conference this year took place at . the monthly meeting of the Woodville Women’s Institute on Tuesday afternoon. Alemhers were of the opinion that, as it is uncerstood the holding of the conference will involve an expenditure of approximately £4OOO, it would’ be in the interests of the institute’s war work if the conference were abandoned, it being considered that this sum could be better employed for patriotic purposes. There was a large attendance at tho meeting, which was presided over by Airs "N. AI. Burnett and opened with prayer for Divine guidance and eventual peace, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Two minutes’ silence was observed as a mark of respect to a valued member (the late Airs E. Wright) and also a Woodville pioneer (tho late Air John Alurray).
