SIR ARNOLD WILSON.

REPORTED MISSING. Received June 5, 9.40 a.m. LONDON, June 4. A member of the House of Commons, Sir Arnold Wilson, who is an air gunner in R.A.F., is reported missing. Sir Arnold Wilson, who has been National'Conservative member for the Ilitchin (Herts.) -Division in the House of Commons since 1933, has had a varied diplomatic and political career. Born in 1884, he entered the Army in 1903 and saw service in India and Persia. He was Deputy Chief- Political Officer to the Indian Expeditionary Force in 1915 and later was Deputy Civil Commissioner. He spent many years'in Persia and on his return to England became chairman of the Home Office Committee on Structural Precautions against Air Attack. He has written several books, mainly on the Near East.
