SICK AND WOUNDED FUND.
SUBSTANTIAL RISE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 4. A jump of £15,000 in 24 hours was reported to-day by the organiser of the Sick and Wounded Fund (Mr J. Abel). The national figures up to to-day were: Auckland, £32,000; Wellington, £45,840; Canterbury, £37,000 ; 1 Dunedin, £27,000; Gisborne, £2000; Hawke’s Bay, £15,900 ; Taranaki, £9500; Blenheim, £1700; West Coast, £800; Palmerston North, £10,156; miscellaneous, £4750; total, £186,646.
