£4O FOR PATRIOTIC FUND. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. . By a decision made at the weekly meeting of the management committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union, last evening, the sum of £4O, the net proceeds from the attendances at Palmerston North and Feilding last Saturday, will be paid into the Sick and Wounded Fund. - Those present were Messrs A. M. Ongley (chairman), Iv. W. Eglinton, H. R, Crawford, J. R. Hardie, H. Hands, B. Palmer, J. Eagle, W._ Gleeson, E. G. Schwarz, R. Gillespie, F. E. Sherwood and R. Foster. A letter was received from B Company (at present in Trentham), Wellington West Coast Regiment, seeking the provision of jerseys, socks and footballs, it being stated that most of the players had learned their Rugby in this district.—lt was decided, in view of the fact that the .union had no such spare equipment, to advise the writers to apply .to the patriotic committee concerned. ' Permission was granted the Technical High School team to play Wellington Technical College on June 13. and also for the Young Farmers’ Clubs to play in a seven-a-side tourney at the Whiter Show. . . R. Bolger (St. Patrick’s juniors), who was ordered off in the St. Patrick’s-Halcombe match on Saturday, was stood down for one playing Saturday, and C. Wilson (Feilding), who was ordered off in the Kia ToaFeilding senior match, was placed on the caution list. On the suggestion of Mr Eagle it was decided that the selectors assemble the representative team on two nights next week for practice. Messrs M- M. Cooner and Gleeson were appointed coaches. All inter-cluh football is to be suspended on the Saturday of Show Week. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. The fixtures, grounds and referees for Saturday are as follow :- — Seniors. —Air Force v.
