JOHN ICATAN v. DAN O'CONNOR. _ Wher Dan O'Connor, the red-headed Irishman, climbed into the ring against “Lofty” Blomfield at Auckland last week he was cheered to the echo; at the end of the match ho was the most popular wrestler ever seen in tho Auckland " Town Hall. Never had Aucklanders seen such a non-stop wrestler, and they immediately clamoured for the men to meet in a return match. In fact, when the return match was staged on Monday night Aucklanders thronged the ticket offices in such numbers that at 7.30 p.m. the “House Full” sign wont up and hundreds were turned away. In this bout O’Connor allowed his enthusiasm for the .bout to get the better of his judging, and. after mauline Blomfield to the best of his ability, he lost on a foul. Palmerston North wrest ling patrons are to be given an early opportunity of seeing the “human thunderbolt” in action and there will be considerable interest taken in bis match against John Katan, winner over Blomfield, when they meet at the- - Opera House to-morrow With Katan jolting and coming in all the time and O’Connor shooting in dropIcicks and flying tackles, there should not be a dull moment when these two big attractions get into action. Much hinges on the result of this match as a win will place one of the men in the lioom throughout the entire Dominion and matches will come in plenty.
