At a meeting of the .Women's Christian Temperance Union, yesterday, “White Ribbon Day” was celebrated. Devotional exercises, conducted bv Mrs J. H. Willson, commenced with the hymn ‘/All Round. the World Our Ribbon White Has Twined.” The tern? no ranee fact was presented bv Mrs Carter, after which Mrs Scott gave, a report of the recent banquet. Satisfaction was expressed by' members that it proved to be so pleasurable and successful. It was agreed that the W.CI.T.TT. take ,its turn in trie, patriotic shop during the last week in Jnlv. The correspondence was next read hv Mrs T. R. Holder. Recitations bv Miss Preda Whittaker and sones by Mi«w Thelma Boniface were much appreciated, and both performers were accorded thanks. Readings from the White Ribbon were given bv Mrs J. Renketh, Mrs J. S. Scott. Airs J. H. AVillson, and Airs F. A. Collins. Afternoon tea was prepared bv tbe hostesses, ■’Mrs -T. 0 and Mrs AV. A. Ronifme. and Atiss Astbury. The meetinrr closed w’tli praver for Divine Guidance for tbe nation’s leaders: and for strength. courage and Divihe help for the fighting forces.
