OHAKEA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) OHAKEA, June 3. At a practice rifle shoot the scores were: W. Klatt 98, W. Robinson. IT. Mansell 92, N. Lcct, G. Robinson 90, R. Hartley 85, J. Klatt 78, L. Masters 79,L. Keys 73, D. Matthews 55. jj A large meeting of residents was held with the object of forming a branch for patriotic purposes. Mr Itedpath (joint convener) briefly explained the position and Mr A. K. Drew (Sanson) put definite proposals to the meeting and explained the organisation required. It was decided to set up a committee. Mr Rcdpath was elected chairman and Mr I. -N. Lcct lion, secretary and treasurer. It was decided that all present form a committee and the following executive was elected : Misses M. and W. Bailey, Messrs/K. Vile, A. Hartley, H. Masters and A. VAMatthews. A small social committee was also elected: Mcsdames I. N. Lcct, W. Robinson and Misses N. Masters and M. Bailey. Mr Drew extended a welcome to the executive to the central executive at Sanson. A discussion on ways arid moans of raising funds for appeals and to provide fitting farewells -for local men going overseas took place and it was decided to make arrangements to bold a gala dance in Sanson. Mrs J. Capstick and Mr A V. Matthews made donations for competition purposes. Mr, Drew was accorded thanks for attending. Mr and Mrs H. Masters have returned from a holiday spent in Rotorua.
