Interesting-racing was enjoyed on the concluding day of the Wanganui Jockey Club's winter meeting, which was held in fine weather yesterday, with a smaller attendance than usual. , The Wanganui Steeplechase witnessed a spectacular duel between Clarion Call and Brigadore before the former secured tho victory for the third time. Dictate scored a surprise win after a sound per- • fonnance in the Empire 'Handicap, the principal flat race. Hunting Lore’s win in the June Hurdles completed a double for Mr L. 11. Collinson, for whom Old Surrey won the Century Hurdles on tho first day. The totalisalor figures were £14.624 10s, compared with £26.505 10s for eight races on the holiday last* year, a decrease of £ll,Bßl.
