CHILD REFUGEES.
AUSTRALIAN SCHEME. CANBERRA, June 1. The Governor-General and Lady Gowrie have offered to provide a home for two children under the war refugee scheme. Senator and Mrs Foil, who have a family of four girls, have offered to adopt two boys. . Senator Foil said lie had been greatly encouraged by the fine response to his suggestion that child refugees from Britain and Allied countries should be given homes in Australia. Shipping interests had told. him they were willing to give practical assistance in bringing the children from the war zone.
