A soldier in camp at Trentliam was so delighted with a gift of mittens that he has asked if the kind-hearted women- of Palmerston North would provide at least 100 pairs for other boys from this district who would he glad of them when on drill out early these cold mornings. The Mayoress has made an appeal for knitters to provide the mittens immediately, wool to' be obtained from Mrs K. Manning (’phone 5680) or at the patriotic shop.
