MANAWATU ASSOCIATION. GOOD TEAM-WORK SEEN. Considering the greasy nature of the ground at tlie Hokowhitu Domain on (Saturday, the standard, of hockey played m the senior divisions was very high. On the whole, the combination and defensive play of the hacks was probably the host seen so far this season. Results were: Senior A.—Woodville 4 ,v. University 1; United Sports 4v. Broadway 2; Phoenix a. bve.

Senior B.—High School 8 v. Broadway 1; Woodvilte beat University bv default; United Sports a bve. J luiior.— Broadway G v. High School B 1; Phoenix 3 v. High School A 3. Schoolboys.—Central A 9 v. Terrace End 0; Hokowhitu 2 V. College Street 0 ; Central B 2 v. Terrace End B 2. SENIOR A. University, with several absentees from their usual team, were no match for Woodville, who held tho territorial advantage practically throughout the game. Scorers lor Woodville were E. Stitt (3) and R. Voivell, G. Petch scoring for University. Messrs D. Wilton and I<\ McLachlati were the umpires. The match between United and Broadway proved a stern struggle, both sides playing a high standard of team-work. The honours remained in doubt to the final whistle. For United M. Smith notched two goals and A. Nesbit and I. Bennett one each. O’Brien and AY. Sutton scored for Broadway; The umpires were Messrs Martin and Wilson. SENIOR B. High School were never seriously threatened in their game with Broadway. B. Kyle scored lour goals, D. Colpman two and N. Anderson and AY. Waters one each for High School, and G. Sykes goaled for Broadway. Messrs Witton and MeLacldan were the umpires. JUNIOR. M. Dilks scored no fewer than six goals for Broadway against High School B. M. Sexton scored for High School. Messrs D. Hoare and I. Bennett were the umpires. S. Gregory gained all three goals for Phoenix against High School A. AY. Persson scoring High School’s three goals. The umpires were Messrs H. Byers and D. McDonald.
