Mrs A. Cate, of Wellington, stayed with Mr and Mrs P. J. Small, of Kairanga, over the week-end. Miss lt'uth Oakley, of Kainforth Street, has returned home from a holiday spent in the South Island.

Mr and Mrs W. Kyle, of Wellington, were the guests of Mrs F. G. Murphy, ,of Rangitane Street, over the week-end.

Miss M. I. Cox, who has been stationed in Palmerston North as school nurse, has left on transfer to Gisborne. She is succeeded by Miss D. Bell, of Waikato. At present staying with Mr and Mrs J. T. McDonald, of Carroll Street,' is Mrs H. In nos Jones, of Hamilton, aunt of Sergeant-Observer Melville Innes Jones, who was recently reported wounded on active service.

Miss Brenda Bell, of Shag Valley Station, Otago, who organised and conducted the party of members of Women’s Institutes which attended the biennial conference of the Associated Country Women of the World, is now working in the canteen of a military hospital in Colchester, England.

The wedding took place on Friday l afternoon, at St. Luke’s Church, Wadestown, Wellington, of Barbara Muriel, youngest daughter of Mrs Olphert, Wadestown, and the late Captain Wybrants Olphert, D. 5.0., D.S.C., R.D., R.N.V.R., and William Donovan, youngest son of Mr and Mrs W. Murie, jfeeatoun/' The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Lieutenant W. Olphert, R.N.V.R., wore a smart suit and swathed turban of oasis blue, her accessories being in a lovely shade of Goodwood tan. Her sheaf was in autumn colourings of golden-brown. The bridegroom, who is training at Trentliam, .was in military uniform.
