The final figures are not yet available, but it is certain* that the one-day appeal in Christchurch to-day on behalf of the Sick and-AVounded Fund will realise at least £7OOO. A barrow procession which attracted a record crowd of at least 60.000 people into the streets ended with total receipts reaching at least £3OOO- A pne-day raffle of a small car was so well patron-
ised that at midnight the proceeds had reached a total of £4OOO. For both efforts there are still many returns to come.
