AEROPLANE ENGINES.
AMERICAN PROGRAMME. WASHINGTON, May 31. The Treasury s aeronautical ad-A-isory section announces that tAVO of the nation’s largest engine mauuiacturers, Avhich lie declined to name, had agreed voluntarily to assign their license rights to tlie Government for three years to expedite the Programme for the manufacture of od Avarplanes. . . It Avas also disclosed that Britain had agreed to permit the construction of Rolls-Royce aeroplane engines in the United States. Britain had shipped tAvo sample motors to the Wright Aero Corporation, Dayton. A spokesman said that while defence problems Avere the first consideration tliere Avas no intention of letting down the Allies. “We feel it is essential to carry through the Allies’ requirements,” he added. '
