Mr and Mrs H. McCormick are Palmerston North visitors to 'Wellington. Mrs C. T. Callis. of Church Street, who has been visiting the Wairarapa, has returned home. Mr and Mrs J. Coup, of Stratford, are visiting the latter’s parents, Mr and Mrs A. H. Manson, of Ferguson Street. Miss Both Parkes is spending the week-end at Tongariro National Park and will return to the city on Tuesday. Mr and Mrs It. Macdonald and Miss Pauline Macdonald, of Ashhurst, are visiting Auckland for race week. Dr. Anne Morgan, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs F. Morgan, of Palmerston North, has left to take up au appointment as house surgeon at the Ashburton Hospital. Mrs AVinton Windermere, of Ceylon, and her daughter, accompanied by Mr It Walden, of Wellington, passed through Palmerston North yesterday and are making a short tour ot Hawke’s Bay and Wairarapa. A green burse and veil, and green hanging for the pulpit, have been pr®" 6ented to All Saints’ Church by Mrs C H Handley. Green is the church s colour for Trinity, the longest season of the ecclesiastical year.

v Visitors welcomed at yesterday s meeting of the Manawatu Women s Club included Mesdames I. lv . Rickard, A. Ashcroft (Palmerston North), Misses Lola Coe (Now Plymouth), A. Taylor and A. Townshend. A memorial brass is. to be placed in All Saints’ Anglican Church to the memory of Mrs H. Palmer who foi very many years was a member of tne Ladies’ Guild, and who took a prominent part in all the work in the parish and district. Mrs J. McLaren, a well-known resident of Dannevirke, who died recently, was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs It. McLeod, old East Coast- identities. who were very well known in the Ti Tree Point and Alntio districts. Mrs McLaren, whose husband, Mr VA McLaren, died in 1916, is survived by one son, Mr J. McLaren, Iviritaki, and two daughters, Miss Dorella McLaren, of the staff of the Wellington Hospital, and Mrs H. McDonald, Te Uri, and a brother, Mr A. McLeod, Otanga.
