(From Our Own Correspondent.) BEACONSFIELD, May 16. The lady golfers will play the rose bowl and Etna Cun competition on the links npxt Saturday. The following is the draw : Mrs Blue and Mrs C'orpe, Miss Clare and Mrs Wither, Miss Coggia and Mrs McCombio, Mrs D. Old and Miss Wither, Miss N. Old and Mrs Stephens, Mrs A. Shannon and Miss Stratford, Mrs J. Old and Miss Williamson, Miss T. Old and Mrs Usinar, Miss D. Shannon and Mrs Short. The men will play a Bennett Cup and bogey competition, the draw being: M. McLean and K. Bunn, T. Wilson and N. Short, G. Truman and G. Coggin, D. Blue and J, Strickland, It. Jaggard and J. Old, C. Corne and F. Arrow, J. Woollams and E. Buchanan, F. Ackerman and C. Curtis, D. Old and J. Wither. The draw for the week-end bogey: J. Woollams and M. McLean, K. Bunn and T. W’ilson, N. Short and G. Truman, G. Coggin and D. Blue, J. Strickland and R. Jaggard, J. Old and C. Corpe, F. Ackerman and F. Arrow, E. Buchanan and D. Old, G. Curtis and J. Wither. Although heavy rains were experienced last week, the jinks were in fair order for golf and some good cards were handed in. E. Buchanan won the Strickland Button from I. Arrow.

Miss J. Shaekleton, of Hunterville, is spending a holiday with her sister, Mrs F, It Usmar. Mr J. A. Palmer, of the South Island, is visiting relatives in this district. Miss G. Buchanan, of Wellington. is on holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs D. P. Buchanan, “Mayfield.” Mr and Mrs J. A. Snell, who again spont the week-end in the district, were welcome visitors to the golf links. They loft for Marlon on Tuesday and intend to return to Warea at the week-end. The following are the results of the games played in the County- Cribbnge Association on Monday night: —North section: Kimbolton A 25 v. Kimbolton B 25; Apiti 26 v. Apiti B 22. South section : ITalcombe 27 v. Beaconsfield 23; Cheltenham 30 v. Stanway 20. The second round will start on May 20. and the following arc the fixtures: North section, Apiti A v. Kimbolton A, at Apiti; Apiti Bv. Knnbolton B, at Aoiti. South section, Beaconsfield v. Cheltenham at Cheltenham; Ilalcombe v. Stanway, at Stamyay.
