GOLF LINKS SOLD.

GLENDOWIE TO BE FARMED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 14, Sale of the Glendowie Golf Club property was completed to-day, the purchaser being a King Country farmer. The property covers 117 acres, and was sold for about £II,OOO. It will be used as a farm for stud sheep! The purchaser intends to remodel the clubhouse and live on the property. The president of the club (Mr llestall) said it was essentially for young men. The war had made a great difference in the number playing. As a result the club, which was controlled by a limited liability company, found itself unable to carry on. The property owned by the company was originally bought for £25 000. Annual expenses were about £ISOO.
