W.D.F.U.

WAR WORK COMMENDED. “I would like to take this opportunity of congratulating our sister organisation, the W.D.F.CJ., on the splendid response they have made in assisting the- Empire’s war effort,” _ stated Mr H. J. McLeavey (Oh.au) in his presidential report to the annual lnecting of the Manawatu executive of the Farmers’ Union. “Not only have they put their organisation at the disposal of the Government for the furtherance of monetary appeals, but they have also organised tinoughout their various branches a ‘comforts for soldiers’ campaign, knitting pullovers, scarves, balaclavas, etc. This executive might well follow their example and assist, in some degree, the carrying out of local appeals for funds and assistance.”
